Gymnastics Award Party

Last night was the Air-Bound Awards Party. They did awards at the park and then had reserved the pool for swimming. Everyone gets one award (that's the red excellent ribbon below)from their coach. I recorded what her coach Sara said about her. (I'd add the video but still haven't been able to get that feature to work on here, so I just wrote down what she said)

McKenna's pretty funny. She's always making me laugh. We've had a lot of good times. She has put in a great effort to learn her level 6 skills so she can compete. She always lets me know what she's thinking. She's also very open minded and not afraid to be herself. Coach Sara Huppi

That definately sounds like McKenna to a "t"! I'm really proud of her! They also do a competition called "Top Dog". It's where all their conditioning pays off. They test them to see how many push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, etc. they can do. Julie said that they never meant for it to be a big deal but the girls get REALLY competitive about it! She also said there are alot of tears involved. So the ribbon below is 2nd place for McKenna's level 5/6 group Top Dog! She was sad that she didn't get 1st. Silly girl.
Then the certificate is from her last years award (level 4) for Most Dependable Gymnast. This is in a plaque that hangs up the whole year. It is for the gymnast that the team can count on for getting consistent scoring, etc. Well guess what....she won the same award this year for level 5/6! It is really fitting for her in more ways then one. She is very dedicated to being a gymnast and team player. I get in SOOO much trouble if I make her late. She wants to do and be PERFECT. She absolutely loves it! Anyone who is able to do 16 hours/wk of gym, get good grades at a darn hard school, help her mom and dad and still have a social life is pretty talented!

We sure do love this girl! She is growing before my eyes I think. We went thru last years school pants and she's grown out of almost all of them. So scary and fun at the same time! Love ya Kenna Mac!
